Beer and poetry inspires a wonderful thought. What if we weren't afraid to share the power of the spoken word....
The Strength of Hearing the Words of Others:
Finding an event to share your words or your works, perhaps
even creating your own- is a wonderful way to create publicity for your
project. It is an incredible way to be sure your voice is heard and understood
/ shared with others.
In fact it could do wonders for book marketing and profiting
your bottom line.
It also allows you to establish a reputation as a performing
artist. And get insights into how your work is received by real people.
That being said, there is an event known as Bards and
Brews which I was allowed to witness in Birmingham. There are events such
as these in varying cities. This one a poetry slam held monthly in Birmingham,
Alabama provided an entertaining opportunity to witness other poets express
them selves.
It also allowed for an opportunity to be inspired to join in
a future poetry event to share my voice. The point I’m reaching is, when you’re
stuck for words or inspiration. Perhaps writing has become to much of a
process. Take a moment to feed of the words/ energy of others who share your
interests. Perhaps by supporting your local artist community the community as a
whole might grow just a bit larger.
