While walking today two songs crossed my music player. Both
pieces of poetry by the Geto Boys. I say poetry because these two songs, while
clearly explicit and intended to shock and awe,
have a measure of meter which drew me to them at their first release and
again years later during my search for inspiration. The first song “gotta let
your nuts hang” and the follow up” mind playin tricks on me”; these two pieces
reminded me of why it is I do what I do. And more so why I’m willing to do
whatever it takes to accomplish what I mean to.
Though they may not serve as Godly influence or inspiration.
These two pieces, in context, simply say be who you are and who you’re meant to
be. The best version as you discern God calls you to be. What words are more eloquent
